Please check our website if you want to know more <https://mywayroute.com>

# Does MyWay work in my area?

Does MyWay Route Planner work in your country and town?

MyWay combines the most up-to-date maps, addresses, and places databases from Google Maps, Mapbox, Here, and OpenStreetMap into one route planner. That means MyWay works in every region on a planet and has the most extensive database of addresses across the globe.&#x20;

We work in most countries across the globe, but here's an overview of the countries and regions where most of our users work and live:&#x20;

* USA
* UK
* Canada
* Australia&#x20;
* New Zealand
* Brazil
* Germany&#x20;
* France
* Italy
* Netherlands
* Europe
* APAC
* all other countries around the globe (175 countries to be exact)&#x20;

We have users in every part of the globe, so it does not matter where you are - we can help you build efficient routes.

{% hint style="success" %}
To better support countries across the world MyWay has a feature that no route planner has. MyWay provides the [ability to change the address geocoding provider](/i-cant-find-an-address). So if you you know that some provider works better in your area you can set it in the app settings.
{% endhint %}

# How much does MyWay Route Planner cost?

Why do I have to pay for MyWay Route Planner?

For new users, we offer a plan that allows you to optimize up to 15 stops (locations/addresses) per route absolutely for free. If you need more than 15, you can start your 7-day free trial to try out the full version of MyWay. A full version of MyWay Route Planner helps optimize more stops and provides better optimization algorithms.

#### Why do I have to pay?

As an app, MyWay Route Planner has a free offer and paid subscription for those who use our app for business or need more stops and functions. As a business, monthly, we pay for app infrastructure, 3rd party services (map provider, address databases, servers), salaries, R\&D expenses, etc. We also don't have ads, so we rely on subscriptions to exist and grow. We want everyone to have access to route optimization tools, so we decided to offer 15 stops (locations/addresses) per route for free, and our price is the most affordable on the market. Most of our competitors do not provide any free optimizations, and [some provide only between 5 and 10 stops for free](https://mywayroute.com/myway-route-planner-vs-alternatives). Our main goal has always been to save your time and money on fuel. From our point of view, the app price, which equals 1-2 gallons (3-6 letters) of petrol per month, is not just simply fare; it also can be recovered after only ONE optimization. Also, we have discounts for those who work in non-profit organizations and volunteers so that we can play our part in making this world a better place together.

#### Premium Options

At this moment, we have two[ premium options](https://mywayroute.com/pricing), and prices vary by country:

1. Premium for 1 month
2. Premium for 1 year

<figure><img src="/files/G4LUne7exxapymTjgl8U" alt=""><figcaption><p>MyWay Route Planner Pricing</p></figcaption></figure>

If you find MyWay unsuitable, **you can cancel any time during your trial and won't be billed**. If you continue using MyWay, the monthly (or annual) subscription will automatically start when your trial ends.

You can cancel your subscription at any time. After canceling, you'll have access to the app for the rest of your billing period, but you won't be billed again.

# What languages MyWay supports?

### MyWay Route Planner translated into

* English
* German
* Dutch
* French
* Italian
* Spanish
* Portuguese (Brazil)
* Turkish
* Ukrainian
* Russian

We are also working on official translations into:

* Arabic
* Hebrew
* Hindi
* Indonesian
* Malay
* Thai

### How to change the app language?

The app language is based on your phone language and the app inherits the language from phone settings. If there is no language available the English will be used by default.

### New translations or translation issues

If you see some mistakes or want to suggest improvements, you can do it easily by signing up to Crowdin and suggesting the changes at <https://crowdin.com/project/myway-route-planner>.\
\
If MyWay is not yet translated in your language, but you want to help us with translation please email us at <help@mywayroute.com> so we can set you up.

{% hint style="success" %}
We reward anyone who helps a lot with free subscriptions for themselves, their friends and family.
{% endhint %}

### **How you can help with translation** <a href="#how-to-help" id="how-to-help"></a>

First, you need to sign up on Crowdin (it's free).

The minimum you can do to help is go over the strings in your language in Crowdin, and upvote and/or downvote the translations that are good/bad. The more people do this, the better the final translation will be. And if you feel like suggesting a change (even small), please do, it's super easy.

#### Context <a href="#context" id="context"></a>

Make sure you read the context for each string on Crowdin (it's hidden by default and is positioned just under the english source string). Contexts look like paths, e.g. "setup -> guide -> platforms -> android -> guides -> private -> title".

#### Be consistent <a href="#be-consistent" id="be-consistent"></a>

Make sure the same terms are used throughout all the translations. This is important for tech terms (like "cryptojacking") but also for common verbs and nouns (like "log in", "sign up", "payment method", etc.).

#### Tech terms

For tech terms that originate from other companies (like "Google Maps" or "Apple Maps"), make sure you translate them exactly the same way as they do.

For more general tech terms (like "ETA" or "Time Windows"), our suggestion is to figure out how the popular tech press in your language usually name those. Wikipedia can also be a good way to figure this out (when available).

For menus and buttons mentioned in the Setup Guide, please match exactly the translations of the operating system or browser.

#### Tags <a href="#tags" id="tags"></a>

Some translations contain tags like {{tag}}, \<n>\</n>, /n, @a, %2. Make sure the spaces before and after those tags are correct and match the original string in English. Be aware that Google Translate (the initial translation) tends to mess up those and add spaces around tags.

{% hint style="info" %}
In a few languages, spacing around tags needs to be different than in English. If you speak those languages, you will know what to do.
{% endhint %}

#### Letter case <a href="#letter-case" id="letter-case"></a>

Using uppercase letters in the right places is important. English tends to uppercase a lot ("Delivery Time"), whereas other languages only uppercase the first letter of a sentence or term ("Délai de livraison" in French). Make sure you stay consistent and use the right casing for your language.

#### Punctuation <a href="#punctuation" id="punctuation"></a>

Make sure you use the right punctuation (and the right spacing around them) for your language. For example, English uses “abc” for quoting, French uses «abc» and Traditional Chinese uses「abc」. Wikipedia is a good source of truth for those rules.

# How many addresses can I add to a route?

How many stops can I add to MyWay?

If you're currently subscribed to MyWay on Android or iOS, it's possible to add [up to 200 stops](/what-is-myway-route-planner/how-much-does-myway-route-planner-cost) (locations/addresses) to a single route, and, of course, you can create as many routes as you like.

At this moment, we have been working on a business version that will allow optimization for up to 500 stops, multi-driver optimization, dispatch functionality, and business subscriptions.&#x20;

# I can't find an address

or address is wrong

MyWay has the most up-to-date database of addresses and places from Google Maps, Mapbox, Here, Apple, TomTom, ArcGis, and OpenStreetMap combined into one route planner. It means we do not rely on data from only one provider. However, it might be the case when an address is not in our database or it's inaccurate. Let's face it - every provider out there works better in some areas and not that great in others.

### Changing Data Provider (Address Geocoding Service)

No data providers build the same. Some data providers work best in one region, another one in another. Sometimes it can be useful to change data providers and MyWay provides you with such an option. If you can't find addresses often, try to change the data provider in the app settings (main screen, main menu in the top right corner > Preference > Maps & Geocoding >Geocoding Provider)

<figure><img src="/files/dDOmguBZqG0Mc4nUAbJD" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Geocoding Data Provider Options</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
You also can change the geocoding provider from the address search screen. Just pick "Can't find address options" and try a different one.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="success" %}
For the USA, United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, and Australia we recommend Google, Apple, or Here, for the rest of the countries ArcGis or Here.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

### If the app recognizes addresses wrong, suggest another state or country

The app relies on a geocoding service and uses either your current location or the last added stop as a reference for searches. If location access is disabled or you previously added a stop in another state or country, that location might be affecting your results.

**How to Fix It:**

* Check Location Access – Ensure the app has permission to access your location.
* Verify Geocoding Provider – If there were recent changes, the app might be using a different provider with less accurate results.
* Set the Correct Search Context – Manually add the first stop in your actual area before pasting the full list.

### If the app navigates you to a wrong address

The app may navigate you to a different address if “navigation by address” is enabled in the Nav Settings. MyWay offers two methods for sending stops to navigation apps like Google Maps, Apple Maps, and Waze. [Check this article to understand the difference between these navigation options](/guides/understand-navigation-settings#navigation-options).

### How to report an incorrect address in MyWay Route Planner?

In MyWay Route Planner, click on a menu icon in the top right. Then go to "Routes," then click on three dots next to the trip and choose the option "Report an Issue". Write down a message to us, and we will try to fix this incorrect address for you. Please provide us with addresses and screenshots so we can identify the problem and get it fixed in address databases.

### How to report an incorrect address in Navigation Apps?

If you want to report an incorrect (or missing) address, we recommend doing this through **Google Maps** (short instructions on how to do this [here](https://support.google.com/maps/answer/6194894?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop\&hl=en\&oco=1)) or through OpenStreetMap ([here](https://www.openstreetmap.org/fixthemap))

As soon as your report is reviewed and approved by Google or the OpenStreetMap community, you will see the correct address in your navigator and in MyWay Route Planner as well.

# Is there any difference in functionality between iOS version and Android version of MyWay?

In short - yes. Not everything available on iOS is automatically available on Android and vice versa. At this stage, the iOS app has much more functionality and is superior to our Android app.

Our main goal is for the two apps to be as close as possible, but there are still some platform limitations and differences between these two. For example, Android features Google Maps by default and is missing Apple Maps and Apple geocoding entirely, as there is no way to add that to the Google Platform.&#x20;

Also, the Android app has a limited amount of search features (iOS has an address, map, contacts, favorites, multi-line list, import from file, and photo, audio; an Android has all of that except import from file). Overall, we aim to make all features available on Android around October 2025.

# Service Status

MyWay Route Planner has a service status page where you can find information about service uptime, issues, and scheduled maintenance. You can find it [here](https://mywayroute.statuspage.io).&#x20;

# How to contact us?

Or suggest a feature or report any issue with the app

If you want to talk to us, suggest a new feature, or report a bug, we have a simple way to do so.

There are actually many ways of doing this:

1. You can drop us a line by going to the MyWay app setting (top right menu icon) and then the "Report a Problem" or "Talk to Us" menu item.
2. You can go to our public website <https://mywayroute.com> and talk to us via online chat there.
3. You can drop us an email at <support@mywayroute.com>. &#x20;

We usually respond quicker in online chats, but feel free to use any method that works for you. We will be happy to talk.

# How to use MyWay Route Planner

Route modes, stop parameters, optimization modes, etc.

The primary purpose of the MyWay Route Planner is to save you time and money by reducing the need for manual route planning and minimizing mileage traveled. MyWay Route Planner will help you cut down on route planning time and efficiently plan routes with multiple locations in seconds.&#x20;

After downloading the app from [Apple AppStore](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/delivery-route-planner-myway/id1557014712) or [Google Play Market,](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.proalab.mywayapp) you need to open it, and the first thing you see is the app's main screen.

## Build and Edit Routes

### Add Stops

<figure><img src="/files/UR8WLoKQMvE4gxAYKvwy" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Main Screen (Route Edit Mode)</p></figcaption></figure>

Add a Start Location (required), an End Location (optional), and any number of stops. To add a stop, click "Add Stop" or use the magnifier button in the top left (check the screenshot above). You also can [save Start and Finish](/guides/understanding-stop-settings#start-and-finish-settings) locations as a default for future routes.

With MyWay, you can add an address using various sources, including a **basic address search, map selection,** [**saved places**](/guides/managing-your-contacts-and-places#places)**,** [**contacts**](/guides/managing-your-contacts-and-places#contacts)**,** [**lists**](/guides/import-from-file-and-multi-line-import#multiline-import)**,** [**file uploads**](/guides/import-from-file-and-multi-line-import#import-from-file)**,** [**external links**](/guides/export-your-route-and-share-it-with-others#share-route-copy)**, photos, or dictation through audio input**. Refer to the screenshot below to see what the “Add Stop” process looks like.

<figure><img src="/files/z1s0sa8gOY26q69Ufk6k" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Add Stop options</p></figcaption></figure>

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="iOS - Photo and Voice Input" %}
**IOS**

**Photo Input -** If you don't see a photo icon in search input, it means your iPhone or iOS does not support photo input - <https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/iphone/aside/iph691752bc0/17.0/ios/17.0> or does not support your language - <https://www.apple.com/ios/feature-availability/#live-text-live-text>

\
**Voice Input -** If you don't see dictation input (microphone icon), you might want to turn on dictation in iOS settings - <https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/iphone/iph2c0651d2/ios>
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Android  - Photo and Voice Input" %}
**Android:**

**Photo Input -** If you don’t see the photo icon next to the search input, it means that the photo input feature is not available on your device (or phone language is not supported).

**Voice Input -** If you don't see dictation input (microphone icon), please follow this instruction to turn it on - <https://support.google.com/gboard/answer/2781851?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid> also some manufacturers have a different way to turn it on, please refer to your phone manual.
{% endtab %}
{% endtabs %}

Use the "+" button to add multiple stops. To view a stop on the map, click the address in the list on the left (click on the left side from the + button).

{% hint style="warning" %}
Some addresses might not appear in the search results. If this happens, try adding more details to the search field. If the issue persists, switch to a different geocoding provider. MyWay is the first and only app that supports multiple address geocoding providers, and [you can change it in the app settings](/i-cant-find-an-address#changing-data-provider-address-geocoding-service).
{% endhint %}

## Route Parameters (Route Settings)

At the bottom of the Main Screen, you can find route settings like [Vehicle Type](/guides/understand-vehicle-settings), Departure Time, [Avoid options](#avoid-options), Road Side (for all stops in the route, can be: any side of the road, your driving direction side, or opposite road side), and [Optimization Mode (Time/Distance)](#optimization-mode). These settings are available only when you plan your route, not after you start it.&#x20;

**Route parameters are very important and can dramatically change your route time, distance and it looks**. Take some time to experiment with them, because there is no one-fits-all solution. At the end, you will get a route that looks exactly how you want it set up for your specific needs.

<figure><img src="/files/OYxZESOMcRP75IRdVNWF" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Route Parameters</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
You can plan your route and view ETAs in advance by setting "departure time". However, avoid clicking the “Start Now” button unless you’re ready to begin, as it will recalculate all ETAs based on the current time. This ensures your ETAs are accurate when you actually start your route. When you’re ready to go, simply click “Start Now” and mark your Start Location.
{% endhint %}

### Optimization Mode

**One of the most impactful settings for route planning is Optimization Mode**, which offers two options: By Time and By Distance. This global setting affects both the optimized routes generated by the app and the order of your stops.

**Optimization by Time is recommended in 90% of cases.** It works similarly to most navigation apps, focusing on efficiency rather than the shortest path. While the route might be slightly longer in distance, it’s typically faster, more fuel-efficient, and more convenient. These routes usually involve fewer turns, traffic lights, and route changes.

Optimization by Distance prioritizes the shortest possible route, even if it sacrifices time and convenience. Routes optimized this way often include more turns, traffic lights, and route changes. While it’s less practical for most users, it can be useful for drivers who are highly familiar with the area.

### Avoid Options

Avoiding allows you to exclude specific elements from your route, such as highways, ferries, or toll roads. However, some of these elements might be necessary to complete the route, so exclusions aren’t always guaranteed. If avoiding certain elements isn’t possible, the app will still prioritize minimizing their use whenever it can.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Keep in mind that you need to set the same avoid settings in your navigation app as you do in MyWay. Some navigation apps don’t accept these settings from external apps, meaning they will ignore the avoid preferences when the route is passed over.
{% endhint %}

## Stop's Settings

Yeach stop has[ stop parameters like time windows, priority, notes, color, etc](/guides/understanding-stop-settings). To change stop settings, click on the stop added to the route.

{% hint style="info" %}
Please remember that the "Optimization by Distance" can ignore stop settings like priority and time windows. The only option that supports time windows and priority setting in full is "Optimization by Time."
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
*When you add stops, please pay attention to the warnings and errors MyWay is showing you. For example, if the app believes the stop is incorrect or placed in the wrong place (like another country), it will show you an orange exclamation mark next to the stop. If you get any errors, please check* [*our article that explains what they mean and how to get them sorted*](/faq/why-do-some-of-my-stops-have-issues-path-not-found-or-unexpected-error)*.*
{% endhint %}

MyWay Route Planner also supports multi-day routes. If you want to know how to build them, please [check this article](/guides/planning-multi-day-routes).

After you add all stops and select the route parameters, click the blue button with arrows at the bottom right. After you do that, the route will be sent to the route builder, and you will be presented with Route and Optimization Options.

## Optimization Options (Build and Optimize your route)

• [**Current keeps the stop order**](/guides/understand-optimisation-settings#optimize-reoptimize-route-settings) exactly as you entered it, with no optimization applied.

• [**Optimized**](/guides/understand-optimisation-settings#optimize-reoptimize-route-settings) **automatically reorders the stops for the fastest or shortest route**, based on your selected optimization mode.

<img src="/files/SW7snpwGDUTyIyTcKqo0" alt="Choose optimization type." width="188">

{% hint style="warning" %}
Sometimes, an optimized route traveling time or distance can be more significant or take more time than the route without optimization. It happens because optimization considers all stop parameters. [Parameters like "time windows," "priority," and "service time" will affect your route's overall time and distance](/guides/understanding-stop-settings). Our **algorithm built the most efficient route possible, considering all these parameters**. It just may look like it is less efficient than the current order, as the **current order simply ignores all parameters**. If you want more about this, please check our [article that explains how the route optimization algorithm works](/faq/the-route-myway-produced-doesnt-look-correct).
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
MyWay will show you late arrivals and [issues](/faq/why-do-some-of-my-stops-have-issues-path-not-found-or-unexpected-error#stops-with-issues) so you can make informed decisions about what to do with them. In some cases, like tight time windows or messed stop priorities, there is a possibility that the algorithm can't find the best order that satisfies all parameters. Sometimes, the app can't even build your (Current) order as there are many issues with stops. In this case, the app will show you a warning and will suggest you modify some of those stops (or simply skip them). It will show you late arrivals and issues so you can make informed decisions about what to do with your stops.
{% endhint %}

<div><figure><img src="/files/OoFn8N6D8FoLyc6GAT2o" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Late Arrival</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/SJQzYYg3914OIYNNxAud" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Optimization Warning</p></figcaption></figure></div>

{% hint style="info" %}
Our users also told us that some apps "build your route anyway" and show you those missed stops after the fact. It creates a feeling that everything is okay until it's not. We show you this so you can decide what to do before it's too late.
{% endhint %}

### Confirm your Route

After selecting the route type (Current or Optimized), the app will prompt you to click the “Start Route” button (in some versions can be "Let's Go", etc.). If you’re done planning, click it to proceed. Otherwise, you can continue adding stops, adjusting stop parameters, or building additional routes for reference.

Once you press “Start Route”, the app will recalculate the route using the latest data, including time windows, traffic, and other factors. You can also close the “Start Route” prompt and keep editing your route. When you’re finished making changes, click the blue button with arrows at the bottom right to finalize your route.

<figure><img src="/files/EVPEIwaquK7tU5gjJQiJ" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Start Route button</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="success" %}
If you’re planning a route for the future, press the “Start Route” button right when you leave. This ensures the route starts at the correct time, providing accurate ETAs and up-to-date traffic data.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
If you want to modify the route after the app builds the stop order, you can still [change the route order—even after it’s built](#changing-the-route-after-route-buit).
{% endhint %}

## Follow Route

After you start the route: choose your preferred option (Current or Optimized) and click the "Start Route" button - the app will move you to "Follow Route Mode." In this mode you can Navigate to stops (Navigate or Go button), mark stops as visited (Done/Arrived/Success/Failure button), and do many other things.

<div><figure><img src="/files/24CgBZ5aw0cStPer0vGe" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Route - Main View</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/jwa2H9RhObUva1pmOvIP" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Route - List View</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/FRjMiRXwfg6sqdRiPWoK" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Route - Map View</p></figcaption></figure></div>

If you need to change a [Navigation style](/guides/understand-navigation-settings) (navigate by address/coordinates), click on the 3-dots button next to the "Nav" button ("Go" button). The app will show you a modal window to change navigation mode and the final destination navigation app (Google Maps, Apple Maps, Waze, etc.)

The "Done" button lets you close a stop and activate the next one. In case of "proof of delivery turned on" in App Settings, it will open your Proof Of Delivery Screen. You can read more about [Proof of Delivery](/guides/proof-of-delivery) here.

Click on a stop to see additional parameters and to add some notes, skip stops, etc.

### Fitting Modes

The fitting mode automatically adjusts the map view to highlight the most relevant part of your route. It dynamically shifts focus based on your journey—whether showing the entire route, your next segment, or just the destination. This feature helps keep your navigation clear and relevant, reducing the need for manual zooming or panning.

MyWay offers three route display modes:

1. Fit the Whole Route – Shows the entire route on the screen.
2. Fit Route from Point A to B – Focuses on the current segment of your journey.
3. Show Destination – Zooms in on the final destination.

**How to Use:**

Tap the button located above the Current Location button (above the "current location button" and just below the map’s zoom controls) to switch between modes.

**When Planning a Route:** Only Fit the Whole Route is available.

**When Following a Route:** The button will cycle through the three modes from left to right automatically (refer to the images below for visual guidance).

<div><figure><img src="/files/dGLcq0FCKFQBTa9OuYo8" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Fit the whole route mode</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/yzUZ0n1qX5tjA1Ni9EeF" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Fit current route from point A to B mode</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/5C0boWj4ahK26WiAdSfc" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Show destination mode</p></figcaption></figure></div>

In addition to fitting mods, when you start a route (driving or following it), tap the current location icon to make the map follow your position. The location icon appears filled when this mode is active. In this mode, your location stays centered on the map, and if you move the map, it will automatically adjust to keep your position in view. This is especially useful when using the app for navigation.

### Your Location

You can hide your current location to make it easy to work with the route. It's handy when you build and manage routes outside of your area. To hide your location, go to layers (top right button below the main menu) and uncheck the "My Location" checkbox. When you have "My location" on, "Fit the whole route" mode will include your location and all route stops. When "My Location" is off, only your stops in the fitting mode will be included.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/GY9eLUzlCq3MWRyPTqTd" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>My location checkbox in the Layers Screen</p></figcaption></figure>

When you follow your route and want' to ["Update"](#update-and-actualize-route) it to actualize ETAs, if access to your location is ON, MyWay will take your location as an "intermediate starting" point. That will greatly improve ETA calculation and will build you a much more accurate route. However, this can cause issues when your location is in a different country or can't be accessed by public roads. We recommend checking [Optimisation Settings ](/guides/understand-optimisation-settings#starting-location)to see how location can affect your routes.

### Update and Actualize Route

If you see that you are running late or have changed your route, you can update all ETA's and stop the order. You can do that by pressing the 3 dots menu button (in the route header) and picking the "Update Route" option or do complete Reoptimization. [Read more about those options](/guides/understand-optimisation-settings#route-update-and-reoptimize).

## Making route changes after the initial route is built

MyWay lets you make changes even after optimization—before you start the route or while it’s already in progress. Whether it’s a small tweak or a full overhaul, you’re always in control. There are three ways to edit a built or active route:

**Modify Route Before Starting**

If you’ve already optimized and selected an order (either Current or Optimized), but want to make adjustments before starting, tap the arrow button next to “Start Route.” Make your changes, then tap the blue arrows button and pick Current Order to keep your custom stop sequence.

**Modify Route After Starting**

**Quick Add & Reorder:** Need to drop in one or two extra stops? Tap the search icon (magnifying glass), find the stop, and tap “Add to Route.” MyWay will insert it near the closest existing stop. Long-press to drag and reorder. Tap the blue arrows button and hit “Update” to refresh ETAs.

**Full Edit Mode:** For multiple changes, tap the three dots in the route header and select “Edit Route.” Add stops using the search icon or “Add Stop.” Reorder by dragging. Then tap the blue arrows button and pick:

• “Current Order” to keep your manual layout

• “Optimized” to rebuild and get the most efficient route

Use Quick Add for minor updates. Use Edit Mode for bigger revisions. Use the pre-start modification if you need to make quick changes right before heading out.

# Understand Optimisation Settings

Route Optimisation types, Route Optimisation parameters, Update Route and Reoptimisation options

MyWay Route Planner, like no other app on the market, supports two Route Optimisations (with many parameters). You can build a route the way you want it (without optimization, your own order) and with optimization (when the stops sequence is optimized to provide you with the fastest/shortest route). In addition to these two mods, we explain other suboptions below.

## Optimize/Reoptimize Route settings

**"Current" Mode** will allow you to build a route precisely the way you want it to be. You can build a route and track your route/delivery progress using MyWay functionality.&#x20;

**"Optimised" Mode** will allow you to get the most optimal route from a time and travel distance perspective. This mode is preferable as it **will help you to save time and money on fuel.**

<figure><img src="/files/SW7snpwGDUTyIyTcKqo0" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Optimize Only New Stops Setting</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="success" %}
You also can build a route, optimize it first, go back to edit and modify it to your liking (shuffle stops, add new stops) and then pick ["Update Route"](#route-update-and-reoptimize) to actualize ETA's and order)
{% endhint %}

## Optimize for Finish Time or Optimize for Overall Travel Time

When you use [Optimization by Time](/guides/how-to-use-myway-route-planner#optimization-mode) mode, MyWay uses intelligent algorithms to build a route optimal for your needs (settings you pick), but it's not always possible to find the best route without sacrificing specific parameters. That's why your options are important and can greatly influence the final route. MyWay has two mods that can help you get the optimal route for Finish Time or Travel Time, depending on your departure date. When you need to reduce overall travel time, you can set departure at any time. We recommend setting a specific Departure At when you need to optimize for Finish Time. Even though this setting greatly influences the optimization type, don't worry; your route will be optimal; it simply prioritizes one over another.

## Route Update and Reoptimize

In some cases, your route needs to be Updated or Reoptimized. Some reasons why it might be required or good to do:

* you added some stops after you started your route&#x20;
* you did not close stops in the order suggested by the app
* you want to update the time estimation (ETA's)
* you decided to take a short break, and now the time in your stops does not look correct
* you changed your stop's order and want to actualize your route, etc.

A good sign you might need Route Update is the "\~" symbol next to your time (like in the screenshot below). That symbol represents that time next to it as approximate time only.

<figure><img src="/files/TBCEZ213F5PSPMfVsQXX" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>approximate time representation</p></figcaption></figure>

Even when we don't show the "Update Route" button (blue button with arrows at the bottom of the right side), you still can recalculate your route by using "Reoptimize Route" option.

{% hint style="info" %}
In cases when you have some closed stops in the future, and the "\~" symbol is showing, the route update will not update ETA's for future stops after that future closed stop. In this case, you must go to the menu and do Reoptimization to rebuild your route.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/SEdR2rb9DPEBZUkqGZFa" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Update Route and Reoptimize Route items in the Route Menu</p></figcaption></figure>

### **Difference beetwen "Route Update" and "Route Reoptimize" options**

This option in the Route Menu is an excellent and straightforward way to update ETAs across all your stops or actualize your stop's order. The **"Route Update" functionality will not change your route order but actualize ETA and will try to insert newly added stops in a position where they make sense.** In this case, the app will keep completed (Done, Arrived, Success, Failed) stops in the Scheduled section. The app will consider them when building the new route so that it might affect the overall route time and distance. **In this case, the route will not be optimal, but the original order will be kept.**

**The "Reoptimize" option will rebuild the whole route based on your preferences and build you an optimal route, considering all changes you have made to your route so far (like newly added stops, finished stops, etc.)** This option will bring you back to [Optimize/Reoptimize Route settings](#optimize-reoptimize-route-settings). In this case, the app will move all completed (Done, Arrived, Success, Failed) stops to the Finished section and exclude them from the route. All distances and closure times will be saved so you will not lose data. **As a result of reoptimization, you will get the most optimal route.**

### Starting location

This setting is not visible in the app but might have two options:&#x20;

* When you have "My Location" turned on (like in the screenshot below) in the application layers screen, your current location and time will be taken as a temporary starting point when you update your route or reoptimize it.
* When you have "My Location" turned off in the application layers screen, the last finished stop (with done status) will be used as the starting point, and the starting time will be that stop completion time.

<figure><img src="/files/GY9eLUzlCq3MWRyPTqTd" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>My Location settings in App Layers</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
The **"My location" option turned off (when the checkbox is not checked) is not recommended**, as it might affect route distance and time estimation accuracy. It also will affect application work and functionality. **It might be helpful if there is no access to your current location or if your current location will break the route** (for example, you are far away from your stops, in another country, on the island, etc.). Still, we don't recommend using it to block app access to your location data on a permanent basis.
{% endhint %}

## Route Reverse (Reverse Stops Order)

MyWay also supports route reverse when you need to flip the route (for example, you have only the start location and want to start collecting parcels from the farthest stop, coming back to start). This might be useful when your route is narrow and lies in one direction (like a directional sector). You can flip your route by going to the route menu (3 dots blue button) > More > Reverse Stops Order. After that, we recommend picking "Current" as your optimization option to keep your route as you build it.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Please keep in mind that the "Current" option, as well as the "Reverse Route" option, will ignore stop time windows, ASAP flag, and all other stop settings that will be taken into account when you pick the "Optimized" option. The "Current" and "Reverse" options are for users who prefer to follow their routes. You can still optimize route > go to edit mode > change it to your taste > and pick "Current" afterward to make a combo between optimized and current, though.
{% endhint %}

# Managing your Routes

Create, Save and Plan your routes in MyWay Route Planner

MyWay Route Planner allows you to create as many routes as you want. Creating routes is pretty simple. All routes are automatically saved after you have made any changes.

## How to create a new route?

When you are in route mode, to create a new route, all you need to do is click on three dots button next to a route name (please see screenshots below) and choose the "New Route" option. Your current route is going to be saved automatically in the Routes section.

<figure><img src="/files/ZMocYrTgdJoyauqMzjJq" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Route Menu on Main Screen</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Don't worry, you will not lose your current route or its history. The app automatically saves the current route and all data on your device.
{% endhint %}

Also, from that menu, you can rename your route, [export](/guides/export-your-route-and-share-it-with-others) it, and [share it with others](/guides/export-your-route-and-share-it-with-others#share-route-copy).

## Where do you find all your routes?

All routes are stored in the Routes section, which can be accessed from the main menu (that one that has an app setting). Please see the screenshots below. All buttons on screenshots are highlighted in red.

<div><figure><img src="/files/7k7tELkxh6E1IzbalUQx" alt=""><figcaption><p>Main Window</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/bc1A20qo8AB0cl7Hh7Tv" alt=""><figcaption><p>App Settings</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/pTLcXEZEtwY3Yxs0wwYQ" alt=""><figcaption><p>Routes Sections</p></figcaption></figure></div>

Each route in Routes section has its own menu, and what you can do with a route depends on the route status. To be able to access the route menu, you can click on the three dots button next to the route name (above the map and on the right side of the route name). You can Edit saved Routes, Duplicate them, [Download route reports](/guides/export-your-route-and-share-it-with-others#files-export), and do many other things.

<figure><img src="/files/BjsyMTrrnjojUzUsbbh0" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Route menu in Routes Section</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
Keep in mind that all data except shared routes are going to stay on your device. If you want to know more about when we store your data, please check [this article](/faq/your-privacy-and-where-we-store-your-data).
{% endhint %}

## Duplicate route and Copy Stops

### Route Duplicate

Our app allows you to make a complete duplicate of the previous route for your needs. To do that, you go to Routes section > find the route you want to duplicate > click the 3 dots button next to its name > Duplicate. In this case, the route will be copied with all its parameters (like vehicle type, start location, etc.), and a new route will be created.

### Copy Stops

The Copy Stops menu can be found in the same menu when you complete your route. It allows you to quickly transfer some stops from the previous route to a new one without incorporating previous route parameters into the new route. All stops you decide to copy will be copied to the schedule section with their parameters saved.

<figure><img src="/files/5QPERO6JqkAZupLVV4kx" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Copy Stops options</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="success" %}
Pro Tip: When you complete your route (and ideally, you want to complete routes even if there are unfinished stops - not marked with arrived/success/failed statuses), the app will show you completion graphs, and there is going to be a "copy stops" button. If you choose that, you will see the same option as in the screenshot above and can create a new route with missed stops with the click of one button.
{% endhint %}

## Complete your route

You can complete a route in two ways: either mark all stops as finished (Arrived/Skipped/Success/Failure) and click "Complete Route" at the end, or use the route menu (the three dots next to the stops and "distance left" label in route-following mode).

# Managing your Contacts and Places

Favorites, places, contacts

MyWay Route Planner has a lot of tools that can help you with often-visited places. That is especially valuable for those businesses that go into the same place every now and then and want to have a simple and efficient way to repeat routes or build a new one with a few clicks.

To help you build routes quicker, MyWay has two new concepts: Contacts and Places. Both can be used to add stops to the route.

## Contacts

The contacts section is the new section that you can use when you add stops, and it allows you to add addresses from your phone Address Book. If you decide to provide MyWay access to your Address Book, MyWay will be able to import stops directly into your route and also assign information about specific user data into the stop. To access Contacts, you need to either click on the "Add Stop" button or on the top left magnifier button.

<figure><img src="/files/J0pFtW6NOwbMBNLB6hOr" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Then, go to the Contacts section and pick a contact you want to add (check the screenshot below).

<div><figure><img src="/files/Ye7W1UlyTetLfB6AAEBV" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/MXlx4fhVkyhWPnJaEtku" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

After you pick contact (or multiple), you will be able to see them as a stop.

<figure><img src="/files/OxfbZIdRQUjYueE2a3fy" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Places

Places work in a similar way, but there is much more in them than in Contacts. This feature will be useful for sales, delivery drivers, and everyone who needs to build a list of Favorite Places with specific parameters and contact details, grouped by color, tags, etc.&#x20;

To use this feature, first of all, you need to build your list of Places. To do so, click on the top right menu icon and go to the Places section. You can either create a new Place (click the + icon on the top right) or import it from your Address Book (Import Contacts)

<div><figure><img src="/files/pk4R31sWKU3jLGMFMaOt" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Main Screen</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/Yc3XrBnLmjW2SndnDtlD" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Menu</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/pUJUFew7uuyZwJZ3b8Q5" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Places</p></figcaption></figure></div>

After you add a place, you can manage it the same way you manage your stops. Add time window, contact details, tags, notes, etc.

To add a stop from your Places to your Route, you can either add it through the "Add Stop" screen or the top left magnifier button (Places section). Pretty similar to other options like Address or Contacts.

There is one more way to add multiple Places to the route. You need to go to Layers > Saved Places and check it.

<div><figure><img src="/files/ZWrKrPISO1Tn4CfJwhV4" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/bDiDTaV0JpMYHFIxlWWn" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

After you do that, you will see the total amount of places up top, and by clicking on them, you can open the Places Select screen. That screen allows you to select multiple places and add them to the route in a very quick and effective way.&#x20;

<div><figure><img src="/files/hJIdFEp6v8N4O8oxt3Ss" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/QGbWGbKYo9NsBnEoJKST" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

For example, you can click on the "work" tag > then select and click the "Add missing to Route" button to add all stops that share the "work" tag.&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/IkK5dk8LIaZWS4DzNvIm" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You also can add stops individually, from the map, or in any other way you want to.

# Understand Vehicle Settings

Vehicle types: car, van, small truck and truck

When using our route planner, selecting the right vehicle type is essential to ensure the optimal planning of your stops. We offer several vehicle options, each designed for specific purposes and with unique parameters. In this article, we'll explore the differences between these vehicle types to help you make an informed choice.

{% hint style="info" %}
Vehicle options are below your stop list when you plan your route.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/DFAiXXqOmZ4ABhXKs6hm" alt="" width="188"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For most users, "Car" and "Van" will be the primary options and will satisfy 95% of their needs. We recommend picking options like "Small Truck" and "Truck" only when your vehicle is very high or long and when you want the app to take truck vehicle restrictions into account.

{% hint style="info" %}
Vehicle Type will affect the route time and distance. Car route will be different from small-truck and from truck overall. There are some weights that applied for each and every vehicle type and those designed to provide more convinience for driver. [Please make sure you use the right settings](/faq/the-route-myway-produced-doesnt-look-correct) to get the best results for your needs.

However, if you are a van or truck driver, the optimization algorithm will try to avoid small roads and penalize intersections. The algorithm also knows which areas are not allowed for truck drivers (like tunnels, low bridges, or restricted roads) and will avoid that, so your route will look longer but will be suitable for your specific vehicle type.
{% endhint %}

## Vehicle Options:

### Car

* **Dimension:** Height = 1.9 meters (6 ft), Width = 1.6 meters (5 ft)
* **Weight:** Up to 3500 kg (7700 lbs)

**Description:** The car is the default vehicle type in our route planner. This vehicle option is suitable for any vehicle type, regardless of v

### Van

* **Dimension:** Height = 2.2 meters (7.2 ft), Width = 2.0 meters (6.6 ft)
* **Weight:** Up to 3500 kg (7700 lbs)

**Description:** The van is suitable for larger vehicles with a slightly reduced speed factor (90%). It has specific height and width dimensions and is designed to carry loads up to 3,500 kg. This vehicle option tends to favor highways and higher-classification roads, such as motorways and trunks, but it also can build your path through living streets if the result is an efficient and convenient route.

### Small Truck

* **Dimension:** Height = 3 meters (9.85 ft), Width = 2.6 meters (8.5 ft), Length = up to 6.7 meters (22 ft)
* **Weight:** Between 3500 kg to 12000 kg (7700-26500 lbs)

**Description:** The small truck is designed for transporting heavier loads with a speed factor of 90%. It has specific height, width, and length dimensions, suitable for loads between 3500 kg and 12000 kg. This vehicle option tends to favor higher-classification roads, such as motorways and trunks, and checks for truck access, width and height restrictions, and weight limits on the roads.

### Truck (Lorry)

* **Dimension:** Height = 4.11 meters (13.5 ft), Width = 2.6 meters (8.5 ft), Length = up to 22 meters (72.2 ft)
* **Weight:** Between 12000 kg to 40000 kg (26500-88200 lbs)

**Description:** The truck option is like a big vehicle specially designed for carrying cargo over long distances, with a speed factor of 80%. It's suitable for transporting very heavy loads, with specific height, width, and length dimensions, and can handle weights between 12000 kg to 40000 kg. This vehicle option favors higher-classification roads, such as motorways and trunks, and checks for truck access, width and height restrictions, and weight limits on the roads.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If you’re not using a car, make sure your navigation app supports your vehicle type. Apps like Google Maps and Waze don’t accept vehicle parameters from external sources, so you must manually set your vehicle type in their settings. For better accuracy, consider using a navigation app built for your specific vehicle type, like truck-specific nav apps.
{% endhint %}

### Bicycle

* **Basic Type:** Bicycle

**Description:** The bicycle is an eco-friendly option for small-scale deliveries or personal transportation. It's ideal for urban areas and smaller cargo. By default bicycle vehicle option is tuned toward road bicycles with a slight preference for using cycleways or roads with bicycle lanes. Bicycle routes use regular roads where needed or where no direct bicycle lane options exist, but avoid roads without bicycle access.

### Pedestrian

* **Basic Type:** Pedestrian

**Description:** The pedestrian option is suitable for route planning for walking. The standard walking route excludes roads without pedestrian access. In general, pedestrian routes are the shortest distance with the following exceptions: walkways and footpaths are slightly favored, while steps, stairs, and alleys are slightly avoided.

## Conclusion

Choosing the right vehicle type is crucial for efficient route planning. Consider the type and weight of your cargo, the vehicle's speed capabilities, and its specific dimensions when selecting. This will help you make the most of our route planner for your specific needs. We recommend sticking to the lowest tier when you pick your vehicle type (for example, if you are a courier driver you will be just fine with "Van" vehicle type, if you deliver goods on Long and Tall Ford Transit you might need to pick "Small Truck" option). The lower tier, the less likely route planner will not be able to build a path to your desired destination. If the route planner returns you a "path can be found" error - please [check this article for a solution](/faq/why-do-some-of-my-stops-have-issues-path-not-found-or-unexpected-error#path-not-found).

# Understanding Stop Settings

How to use Priority, Time Window, and Stop Duration

To make sure your route matches your visit/delivery instructions or real-world situations, MyWay has a couple of options you can set up for any stop:

* [Priority](#priority-asap-button)
* [Time Window](#time-windows)
* [Time at Stop (Service Time, Stop Duration)](#time-at-stop-service-time-stop-duration)

Also, there are some other settings that can help you to classify each stop in your list, like:

* Tracking ID
* Shipment Type
* Color
* Notes
* Tags
* Contact Details

<div><figure><img src="/files/xHOInfucC8RGpDqkG1Or" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Stop's Settings - Page 1</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/bp2YolR2Fn8OI7uV1Zj9" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Stop's Settings - Page 2</p></figcaption></figure></div>

When the last set of stop settings is visual and does not affect the route optimization algorithm, the **first set of settings does affect optimization algorithms and can dramatically change the stop sequence**. To access those settings, simply tap on the stop you added to the route to see a list of stop settings and parameters.

Some of those stop settings, like Shipment type, Tracking ID, Notes, Contact Details, etc., will be shown on the stop card on the main screen. You also can do some operations with it (like call your customer's phone number or send a message) directly from the stop card. See screenshot below

<figure><img src="/files/wGaZb7uSmYDC4Jx8uoTb" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Stop Card on Route Main Screen that shows stop settings</p></figcaption></figure>

## Stop Settings

### Priority (ASAP button)

Does affect urgency and stop prioritization. If you need one or two stops to be visited ASAP, use that setting to tell MyWay must be prioritized.&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}
Please make sure you don't set priority for more than 2 stops. When every stop is a priority, there are no priorities at all.
{% endhint %}

### Time Windows <a href="#time-windows" id="time-windows"></a>

* Arrive between Now and Anytime: The default setting. MyWay will place the stop in the route wherever it's more efficient.
* Arrive between 10 AM and Anytime: In this example, MyWay will make sure you'll arrive at the stop any time *after* 10 AM.
* Arrive between Now and 10 AM: In this example, MyWay will make sure you'll arrive at the stop any time *before* 10 AM.

Use Time Windows when you need to be at a stop before, after, or between specific times. **It's not recommended to have time windows for all stops or have them narrowed down to 1-2 hours (the best practice is considered between 3-5 hours)**

Time Windows might behave differently when you plan a multi-day route. To understand the difference, please [check this article](/guides/planning-multi-day-routes#time-windows).

{% hint style="warning" %}
Please keep in mind that in some cases, when you have a time window for the majority of stops, it is simply impossible to satisfy every time window constraint. In this case, MyWay will ignore some time windows and build you the most efficient route possible based on that ignorance. MyWay will notify you which stops are outside of the time windows so you can prioritize them manually.

Also, time windows are going to be ignored entirely if you choose route optimization for distance. The only mode that supports time windows is "optimization by time." Also, time windows will be ignored if you decide to follow your route in your (current) order. To learn more about Optimisation Settings and options, check [this article](/guides/understand-optimisation-settings).
{% endhint %}

### Time at Stop (Service Time, Stop Duration)

To calculate accurate ETAs, MyWay needs to know how much time you'll spend at each stop. This is the amount of time between stopping your car for the visit/delivery and leaving again for the next stop.

If you know a specific stop will take more or less time, you can use this option to add the correct duration. Each stop can have its own stop duration. **Try setting up stop duration as accurately as possible. If it's off by even 1 or 2 minutes, it can greatly impact your ETAs.** Please check [our article on suggested stop durations](/faq/what-service-time-should-you-choose).

## Start and Finish Settings

The Start and Finish locations are not treated as regular stops, so they don't have the same parameters. However, you can save these locations for future routes to save time.

To do this:

1. Add a Start or Finish location to your route.
2. Click on that location.
3. Select "Save as Default" to save it for future use.

This way, when you create a new route, your saved Start and Finish locations will already be set, and you won’t need to add them again.

# Understand Navigation Settings

Navigation apps and navigation types

## How to pass the address to Navigation App

MyWay supports many Navigation apps like Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, Organic Maps, Here, etc.

To pass a stop to a Navigation app you need to build your route and start it. Then you will see a "Go" (can be "Nav) button with an arrow icon. That button will pass stop details into the nav app so you can navigate to the stop location using your favorite navigation app.

<figure><img src="/files/24CgBZ5aw0cStPer0vGe" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Nav Button (can be Go, etc.)</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" %}
Navigation apps do not support receiving the whole route with a click of a button. Only one stop at a time. It's a navigation app limitation and there is no easy way to address this issue.
{% endhint %}

## Navigation Apps

Currently, MyWay supports Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, HERE WeGo, Organic Maps, MAPS.ME, and Yandex Maps. This is more navigation app integrations than most route planners on the market.

There are hundreds of navigation apps worldwide, and it’s not possible to support every single one directly. If you prefer a different app, tap the three-dot menu next to the "Go" (Nav) button and copy either the coordinates or the address by clicking on it. You can then paste it into any navigation app of your choice. This way, you can use virtually any navigation app with MyWay.

<figure><img src="/files/C7793dCqCooXOLwX9fRR" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Nav Apps and Nav Options</p></figcaption></figure>

## Navigation types: Coordinates or Address

Also, MyWay supports two primary navigation types: Navigation by Address and Navigation by GPS Coordinates. Navigation Settings will determine what data will be transferred from MyWay to the Navigation App of your choice and will affect navigation accuracy in your Navigation App.

You can change the navigation app or adjust navigation settings by tapping the three-dots button next to the “Go” (Nav) button while on a route.

You can also manage navigation options via: Main Menu (top right) → Preferences → Navigation Precision.

### **Navigation by GPS coordinates**&#x20;

Navigation by GPS coordinates provides better precision and is more accurate. In this case, MyWay will pass the stop's GPS coordinates to the navigation app as the destination.

{% hint style="info" %}
Navigation by GPS coordinates provides better precision and is more accurate. However, navigation by address might be more accurate if your stop is in a high-density area.
{% endhint %}

### **Navigation by Address**

Navigation by Address is less accurate because MyWay will pass the stop's address to the Navigation App, and the Navigation App will attempt to find this address in the addresses database. This type might be more accurate if your stop is in a high-density area or your Navigator can't build a route to your stop. If your address does not contain a house number, MyWay will pass coordinates to the Nav App as per a broad number of results, and the Nav App can return.

{% hint style="info" %}
Some Nav Apps like Waze do not support Navigation by Address and can operate only in Nav by GPS coordinates mode. \
\
Also, some Nav apps find the address based on your location, so if the Nav app finds an address that is very similar to what we passed to but might be closer to your location. In some cases, it might lead to the Nav app sending you to the wrong address. It's infrequent, but we feel like you need to know.
{% endhint %}

## Reveal Feature

MyWay Route Planner also has a "Reveal" feature onboard. This feature allows you to see your location without starting Navigation. It might be handy when you need to see a picture of your final destination or want to use "Street View." To see the "Reveal" button, you need to start your route > and click the "i" icon next to the "Done" button > Then you will see an address with Navigate, Reveal, and Share buttons (check the screenshot below)

{% hint style="info" %}
This feature is only available after you have built and launched your route. Click on the stop blank space to see the Stop Parameters screen and the Address block with the Reveal button.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/rv7MW0314v2owlcqyNlA" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Address Navigation Options</p></figcaption></figure>

# Import from file and multi-line import

MyWay Route Planner allows you to save time and import stops from multi-line imports, from files (.XSLS, .CSV), from other [apps](/guides/how-to-import-xlsx-files-from-other-apps), and even through links.

<figure><img src="/files/J0pFtW6NOwbMBNLB6hOr" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Two ways to add stops to the route</p></figcaption></figure>

These features can save you a lot of time and hassle, as you can add many stops at once. To do so, simply click the "add stop" button (or click the search button at the very top left) > scroll down to the right > and choose multi-line import or import from file (check screnshots below). If you import from a file, please make sure you use the correct format (an example can be found [here](#import-from-file-file-example)). Also, please allow some time for the app to process your list, as sometimes it can be a pretty long process (up to 3 minutes) as the app is trying to recognize all addresses and match them to the addresses database.

<div><figure><img src="/files/6XHtoEo1ZmBE5sUsuQ69" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Multi-Line Import</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/K2gbp35ZCaLOCv1j5rTf" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Import from file</p></figcaption></figure></div>

### Multiline Import

Please paste each address in a separate line and click the Search button. The app will then try to recognize the address. After that, you can edit the recognized address or click the "Select All" button on the bottom right side (or pick a specific address by clicking on it), and then click the "Done" button to add stops to the list.

### Import from File

If you pick the File option, please download the file example ([example.xlsx](#import-from-file-file-example)) to see how the import file should look. We do accept .XLSX files and .CSV. The order of columns is not important as we use some smart algorithms to validate the data provided and assign correct data to specific fields based on data formats (if you need guidance or something is not going as expected, please check the file example to see the data formats we use). Then, after you have prepared your data, you can upload the file to the app by clicking the "Browse Files" button, finding the file you need on your phone, and processing it in the app.

{% hint style="info" %}
Before you pick a file, you have to send it to your phone either by email, a messenger of your choice, or AirDrop from your computer. Please refer to How-To instructions on the internet related to the option you pick.

Also, you can use the [import from another app](/guides/how-to-import-xlsx-files-from-other-apps) option when you have a file on your phone.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
If the app recognizes addresses wrong, suggesting another state or country, please follow the advice from[ this article](/i-cant-find-an-address#if-the-app-started-recognizing-your-addresses-wrong-suggesting-another-state-or-country)
{% endhint %}

### Import from file - file Example

{% file src="/files/JprH2sJqp8RyjAIJezvj" %}

You can use the file above if you need an example of a .XLSX file that can be imported into MyWay Route Planner.

{% hint style="info" %}
The actual order of fields and column titles do not matter, but the format of the data does. Like example:&#x20;

Column names for addresses can be "address," "Full Address," "FullAddress," etc., but the format should be the text that geocoding services can recognize.

\
Keep the column names exactly (if you can) as in the example file to minimize processing issues.
{% endhint %}

<table data-full-width="false"><thead><tr><th>order number</th><th>name</th><th>address</th><th>latitude</th><th>longitude</th><th>duration</th><th>start time</th><th>end time</th><th>phone</th><th>contact</th><th>notes</th><th>color</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>1020</td><td>Central Park</td><td>830 5th Ave, Central Park, New York</td><td></td><td></td><td>00:10:00</td><td>10:00 AM</td><td>15:00 PM</td><td>1234567890</td><td>John Dow</td><td></td><td></td></tr><tr><td>1022</td><td></td><td>350 5th Ave, Koreatown, New York</td><td></td><td></td><td>00:10:00</td><td></td><td>19:00 PM</td><td></td><td></td><td>Some notes</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>1023</td><td></td><td></td><td>40.6893</td><td>-74.0445</td><td></td><td></td><td></td><td></td><td></td><td></td><td></td></tr><tr><td>1024</td><td>Apple Store</td><td>103 Prince St, Soho, New York</td><td></td><td></td><td>00:25:00</td><td></td><td></td><td></td><td></td><td></td><td>red</td></tr></tbody></table>

**We recommend using our example file and building your files based on it to reduce possible errors.** Copy of the file is available below:

# Export your route and share it with others

This page will explain how you can export, and share your route with others

You can export your route from MyWay Route Planner at any moment. To be able to do so, you need to click on the 3 dots button next to the route name, there going to be an Export & Share menu item (like on the screenshot below):

<figure><img src="/files/AlzSdhP9idqa9Xx2rTXq" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Export and Share route copy</p></figcaption></figure>

MyWay has two different "branches" that will determine what you get as a result of sharing:

1. [Reports](#files-export) (XSLS, CSV, GPX, PDF) will provide you with a report on your route. The amount of data available will depend on route status and data added to stops (closure status, proof photo, etc.)
2. [Manifest](#get-manifest-web-link) & [Route Copy](#share-route-copy). These two will create a copy of your route with no status data (like delivery status and proof) so you can share it with others. They can be shared and opened as a web link.

{% hint style="info" %}
If you are planning to use it later (for import stops), we recommend saving it into [either CSV or XLS. If you need some route reports, PDF will work](#files-export) better. \
\
If you need to send your route to someone else it's better to use the "[Share Route Copy](#share-route-copy)" option instead of files.
{% endhint %}

## Files Export (Reports Export)

You can pick a specific option if you need to export your route to a file like CSV, XLS, PDF, etc. That option is useful if you need to pass information about your route to someone, save it for later, or provide a report (PDF).&#x20;

<figure><img src="/files/1Ro6mw72mY8DbWX8wIlZ" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Export  options</p></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/v8vrTosfSbsEGPoapoRV" alt="" width="563"><figcaption><p>PDF Report Example</p></figcaption></figure>

## Get Manifest (Web Link)

You can export your route to Manifest (Web Link). Get Manifest (see screenshot above) will allow those who don't have the app yet to see your route and access it from the Web, Tablet, or Phone. Also, Manifest can be a "print-friendly" option for you if you need to print your route on paper and have that paper as a reference.

<figure><img src="/files/ciFTjYCic5H8wurWVrbd" alt=""><figcaption><p>Route Manifest</p></figcaption></figure>

## Share Route Copy

If you want to share your route with someone else (like your driver, colleagues, etc.) we recommend the "Share Route Copy" option. That option will create a route link that you can pass to anyone via messenger, email, SMS, etc. When a person opens that link on their mobile device, if MyWay is installed, it will suggest importing that route to the MyWay App straight away, and if the app is not installed the link will redirect the user to the web page they can download MyWay from.

<div><figure><img src="/files/1Ro6mw72mY8DbWX8wIlZ" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Share Route Copy</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/gCVS76T8me1ijJjDcn3p" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Route Import Screen</p></figcaption></figure></div>

When you share the route by link, the route link will be active for 30 days only. After that, we will delete that route data from our server, so please make sure the route is received and processed by the person you share it with. We delete routes as per our privacy policy and to make sure all data belongs to you and no one else.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Please keep in mind that by sharing routes with others, you might unintentionally share some sensitive data.&#x20;

Please make sure that the file you share does not have sensitive data, and clear the data if necessary. Different export options provide different data exports. You can always find the format you need, or simply clean some fields you don't need (like example from .XLS format).
{% endhint %}

# Proof of Delivery

Visit tracking, Visit Confirmation, Proof of Visit, Delivery Status, Delivery Confirmation.

The app provides several features for managing stops when you on route, such as taking photos, setting statuses, adding notes, collecting signatures, and more. These features depend on the app settings, particularly the “Proof of Delivery” option.

### Behavior of the “Done” Button

The functionality of the “Done” button in route-following mode changes based on the “Proof of Delivery” setting:

• **When “Proof of Delivery” is ON:** The “Done” button opens the Proof of Delivery screen.

• **When “Proof of Delivery” is OFF:** The “Done” button closes the current stop and activates the next one.

### Proof of Delivery Features

Multiple statuses are available, including:

• **Arrived:** Automatically selected when marking “Success” or “Failed” for precise arrival tracking.

• **Success:** Allows adding proof such as photos, signatures, and details.

• **Failed:** Requires selecting a predefined failure reason or adding a custom reason.

Customizing Arrived Status:

If necessary, you can uncheck the “Arrived” status. This prevents the app from marking the stop as visited, which will impact the calculated travel distance.

<div><figure><img src="/files/ylYIxMUwIcoO9ZRS7jRr" alt=""><figcaption><p>only Arrived status in set</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/Kt1cjwENbJUUmcivUcvk" alt=""><figcaption><p>Arrived and Success</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/bUuLJpGcqb2v35LipnrL" alt=""><figcaption><p>Arrived and Failed</p></figcaption></figure></div>

You can quickly pick the "Proof of Delivery" status from route following mode by swiping stop to the right (see screenshot below) and picking the desired status.

<figure><img src="/files/Hm0dpgyRouZetQQZNxWz" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Proof of Delivery status by swipe</p></figcaption></figure>

# Planning Multi-Day routes

MyWay Route Planner, like no other apps on the market, supports multi-day routes, road trips, and travels and has many settings that can help you build, follow, and understand routes better.

<div><figure><img src="/files/NSfqhszkEhIPInJMWeEi" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Multi-Day Optimization</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/sEW7Y03PVJZN2XosKfVc" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Multi-Day Trip</p></figcaption></figure></div>

However, when you plan a multi-day route, you must be aware of a few things you might need to remember. When you see the +1 index next to the time, that means this time has a place the next day. This is very similar to what you see when you buy plane tickets.

### Time Zones

Almost all route planner apps on the market show you time and ETAs of all stops in your local time zone. It makes routes they build inaccurate if you drive through time zone changes or set time windows for locations in different time zones. MyWay, on another side, knows the time zone of stops you add and will apply the correct time zone to time windows and ETA's. It will also show you when the time zone will change. This is similar to how airlines show arrival times in the destination time zone. If there's a time zone difference between your time zone and the stop's time zone, you will see additional time zone information (like GMT +03:00).

### Time Windows

The next thing is the Time Window. The Time Window setting does not have a concept of the day but simply a period From - To. We have a pretty intelligent algorithm that predicts if the time window belongs to another day (if you plan a multi-day route), but in a nutshell, you can use the rule of 4 hours to understand the app logic. If you plan the route and set time windows at the latest time 4 hours later than your start time (or earliest 8 hours later than start time), then it will almost certainly be pushed to another day.

{% hint style="info" %}
If your route starting time is 10 am and the time window for some stops is set Earliest(From) 04 am - Latest(To) 06 am, the app will assume that the time window is set for tomorrow. It will calculate the time difference between the route start time and the latest time, and if the time is greater than 4 hours, it will move the time window to another day and show +1 next to it.&#x20;

If your route starting time is 10 am and the time window for some stops is set Earliest(From) 02 am - Latest(To) 09 am. In this case, the time window will be moved as the stop's latest time is earlier than the route start time and the stop's earliest time is more than 8 hours earlier than the route start time.

There is much more logic, but these rules always work.
{% endhint %}

# The route MyWay produced doesn't look correct?

Learn why routes might not look optimal and what settings affect optimization quality.

## How optimization works <a href="#vehicleroutingproblemdescription" id="vehicleroutingproblemdescription"></a>

MyWay uses data from Google Maps, Mapbox, Here, ArcGis, Apple, and OpenStreetMap to calculate the most efficient route by simulating thousands of combinations. However, the result might not always match your expectations.

The optimization algorithms consider factors like stop priorities, time windows, vehicle capacity, road conditions, traffic, tolls, u-turns, roadside preferences, left turns, weather, and more. [Some of these settings can be adjusted to suit your needs](#settings-that-affect-route-optimization), while others are fixed or influenced by road layout and limits. Below are common issues and explanations for why they occur.

## ETAs seem incorrect

ETAs may differ from actual arrival times for a few reasons: incorrect service times (the most common one, usually it's too short or too long), changing traffic, or the navigation app sending you on a different route. You can update your route in MyWay to recalculate ETAs, reflecting the latest weather, traffic, and stop order changes. We recommend [updating your route](/guides/how-to-use-myway-route-planner#update-and-actualize-route) whenever it's modified to keep the ETAs accurate.

## Why does my route not look "optimal"?

If the route seems inefficient, it might be due to settings not aligning with your preferences. For example, if you don’t allow U-turns, the app will avoid them even if they would make the route faster. [Adjusting settings](#settings-that-affect-route-optimization) to match your real-world preferences can lead to better results.

### Why do I return to previously visited areas?

The most efficient route often resembles a clover shape, meaning you may revisit areas you already visited. While it might seem counterintuitive, shortcuts like crossing streets or avoiding U-turns usually take more time, add risks, and reduce convenience. The clover shape results from settings like [Optimization Type, Allow U-Turns, and Road Side (set to Any Road Side by default)](#settings-that-affect-route-optimization). Adjusting these can improve the route while minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with traffic rules.

### Why does a non-optimized (my own order) route seem faster?

A non-optimized route ignores time windows and constraints, which can make it seem faster. However, this greatly increases the chances of missed stops or deliveries, leading to a higher rate of unsuccessful visits. MyWay will show all possible issues it might catch on the optimization screen.

## Road Settings that affect route optimization.

### **Vehicle Type**

[Vehicle Type](/guides/understand-vehicle-settings) is a very important setting that determines what is available and what is not. If you drive a "car," it's pretty straightforward and it's set by default. Also, pick "truck" as a vehicle type only when you drive a big truck, not a small one. For the van option, stick to "van" or even a "car." If, after changing your vehicle type, you see some issues, please check [this article](/faq/why-do-some-of-my-stops-have-issues-path-not-found-or-unexpected-error).

### **Optimization type**

[Optimization type](/guides/understand-optimisation-settings) is one of the most fundamental settings that affect route optimization. There are two options available. Optimization by time (more efficient) and optimization by distance.&#x20;

Clearly, the “best route” means different things to different people. For most people, the best route would be the fastest one. For some, though, it may be the shortest path. And some may prefer a trip that uses highways or avoids tolls and tunnels. Besides, the fastest or shortest route may not always be the most efficient. For instance, the quickest route might have many left turns, and the shortest mileage route may drive through heavy traffic. In both these route options, your fuel consumption will go up significantly. Also, what if the fastest route is three minutes faster but several miles longer? Is it still an efficient one? What if the shortest path allows you to drive 5 miles less but makes you go through two tolls? Is it an efficient one? Pick the one you believe will serve you better or keep Optimization by time by default.

### **Allow U-turns**

The app can build more efficient routes if you turn on Allow U-turns settings in the app settings (it's turned off by default). The downside of this is going to be more u-turns, which in most cases are less efficient from the time perspective and less safe if you drive a bigger vehicle. Below, you can see an example of how this setting affects route optimization. On the left option, the app will suggest making a u-turn and on the right one to go through a roundabout.

<div><figure><img src="/files/9ZVAGDBJ4C6jwvxmQeB1" alt="" width="375"><figcaption><p>Allow U-turns turned ON</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/0KIxoOwjd1GEO9HhV1Ua" alt="" width="375"><figcaption><p>Allow U-turns turned OFF</p></figcaption></figure></div>

### **Road Side**

Road Side setting, on the other hand, is responsible for app behavior that builds routes considering your preference (as a driver) to cross the road. If you choose "Any roadside," the app will build the most optimal route, but sometimes you have to park on another side from your stop and cross the road. If you choose "Same Side, " you don't have to cross the road, but the road will be longer.

{% hint style="info" %}
Examples:

**If you need the most efficient (convenient) route,** please choose optimization type by time, turn off the allow u-turns setting, and pick the roadside you want (or keep default settings). In this case, the route might look like a clover shape.

**If you need the best-looking (but not optimal) route,** please choose optimization by distance, allow u-turns, and keep the roadside setting by default (any side of the road).
{% endhint %}

## Stop Settings that affect route optimization

### Service Time

Service Time greatly affects overall route time and can play a significant role when you build your route. [Please make sure you set the correct service time ](/faq/what-service-time-should-you-choose)when you plan your route.

### Time Windows&#x20;

Time windows play a crucial role in route optimization. Each stop has a designated time window—an interval when deliveries or visits must occur. The app ensures that all stops are scheduled within their time windows, which can significantly influence the route order and timing.

If a stop has a strict time window, the app may prioritize it even if it's not in the most geographically efficient sequence. This can cause the route to take detours or adjust the timing of other stops to meet these constraints. The more [restrictive the time windows](/guides/understanding-stop-settings#time-windows), the more they can impact the overall optimization, often at the expense of shorter distances or faster completion times. [ASAP flag](/guides/understanding-stop-settings#priority-asap-button) also affects optimization algorithms, pretty much enforcing visit a stop with ASAP flag a first stop in the list.

## My route goes "forward/backward" direction from what I need.

Routes don't follow a "forward/backward" concept. Route has two states, it's either optimal or not. The app builds the most efficient path based on many parameters that we described above, but also has, start, and end locations. If the route seems "backward," from what you need try removing the end location to reduce this chance. Keep in mind, that app still optimizes the route and may not perfectly match your desired order.

Alternatively, you can manually reverse the route by going to route options (three dots next to the route name) > More > Reverse Route. This flips the stop order to better suit your needs.

## How to report bad optimization?

In MyWay Route Planner, click on a menu icon in the top right. Then go to "Routes," click on three dots next to the route you want to report, and choose the option "Report an Issue". Write down a message to us, and we will try to fix optimization for you. Please also share a screenshot that highlights the issue so we can easily see a problem on our side.

Also, you can report lousy optimization when you have an active route. Please click on the three dots at the top left side when you have an active route and choose the option. "Report an Issue". Write down a message to us, and we will try to fix optimization for you.

The app can optimize full-loop routes and even routes without an endpoint. We work with thousands of drivers across the globe to make sure the optimization works as efficiently as possible.&#x20;

# Why do some of my stops have issues, "Path not Found" or "Unexpected error"

## **Stops with Issues**

MyWay Route Planner has an intelligent system that recognizes issues related to stops and can mark some of the stops like stops with issues. There are many reasons why a stop can be marked as a stop with issues. The most common are: stop can\t be reached by public road (it can happen because [vehicle type](#vehicle-type-issue), or simply no road access), no ability to satisfy [time windows](/guides/understanding-stop-settings#time-windows) for a stop (because of tight schedule, or many stops with time windows), because the stop is in a different country, on the island, in the forest. All those issues will be shown by MyWay on the [optimization screen](/guides/how-to-use-myway-route-planner#optimization-mode) so you can make a decision on what to do with them.&#x20;

## **You reached stops limit**

MyWay Route Planner supports up to 200 stops (including done, scheduled, and missed) + start and finish locations. Please make sure you are not out of the limit and that the overall number of all stops is 200 or less.

## **Path not Found**

A **"Path not Found"** message usually tells you there is a problem with one or more stops on your route and that stop/stops can’t be accessed by the public road (they are on an island, in a forest, really far from other stops, etc.). This case is pretty difficult to resolve with optimization algorithms automatically, so that will require some manual check of those stops by a user. To help you resolve this, the app will mark stop/stops with known errors and can even exclude them from the optimized stops sequence. In 80% of cases, the "Path not Found" message is a result of [vehicle-type issues](#vehicle-type-issue) and in 20% it's when you [plan your route outside your location area](#route-exceeds-90000-km-mi).

{% hint style="warning" %}
P.S. There are some cases when the app can't show an error on a stop because there is no clear reason why. In this case, the app will rely on a user to check all stops manually and figure out those which do not look correct.
{% endhint %}

## **Route exceeds 90000 km/mi.**&#x20;

There are some cases when you might get a message that the route length exceeds 90000 km. Usually, it happens when you build a route not in your region, on another continent, across long distances, etc. Examples:

* You are planning a trip to Europe, and all your stops are located there, but you set a start location in the USA
* You have stops spread across all states in the USA, one stop in one state
* You have set stops in some local area, but set finish location is some island that does not have road connection to local area stops are set
* You are planning a trip to Europe and set a start location in Europe and stops are set there as well, but then you want to reoptimize the route and the route now returns the error message.

**Solution:**\
\
**If you build a route in a remote region please** [**disable "current location"**](/guides/how-to-use-myway-route-planner#your-location) **and set the specific address as your start and finish (not current location)**. If you reoptimize the route and get this message please also disable the "current location" checkbox in the layers menu. If you have a spread stops list please consider dividing one big route into multiple (like one route for North, South, West, East, or one route for each state or region). Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need help with this.

**Explanation:**

When you build routes, the app builds a destination matrix for each and every stop and how it's connected to each and every other stop. That matrix allows us to understand actual distances between stops and find the most efficient route. In the cases described above the matrix size might exceed 90000 km/mi distance (or like in the first case can't be built at all). That is the reason you receive this error message. Other apps ignore this problem and simply build a direct route matrix ignoring actual road connections and layouts. That over-the-air connection completely messes with route optimization but does allow those apps to look great on paper when you build your route.

## **Vehicle type issue.**&#x20;

It can happen if your vehicle type is a big vehicle, like a truck (lorry). The error will appear when the optimization algorithm and/or navigational services do not see any ability to build a route for this type of vehicle to one or more stop/stops (low bridges, narrow roads not suitable for a long or tall vehicle, etc.). This case is easy to resolve by changing a vehicle type to a car. Do not worry, the majority of vehicles will do just fine on routes for a car or van. It is just those trucks that are long, tall, or big that are going to face issues and absolutely must use a small truck or truck as a vehicle type.

<figure><img src="/files/kWrQ5xVMmTbBSFqntHpc" alt="" width="188"><figcaption><p>Vehicle type settings</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
[Vehicle Type](/guides/understand-vehicle-settings) and [Route Settings](/guides/understand-optimisation-settings) can affect the route look, its time and distance, as well as overall route "correctness" and convenience. [Please make sure you use the right settings](/faq/the-route-myway-produced-doesnt-look-correct) to get the best results for your needs.
{% endhint %}

## **Unexpected Error**

An **"Unexpected Error"** message usually tells there is a problem with the optimization algorithm. Please check your route and try again in a minute or so. If the issue still exists, please [share your route with ](/guides/export-your-route-and-share-it-with-others)us so we can assist you in [resolving the issue](/how-to-contact-us).

# Setting up correct Time Rate and Mileage Rates (for Business Users)

MyWay Route Planner has outstanding analytics that can provide you with valuable insights, but it's essential to set it up with correct data. For example, it can show you how much money you saved by using an app and can be used to calculate the cost for claiming expenses, for analytics purposes, as a performance report, or for any other purposes.&#x20;

MyWay has two critical parameters we use to calculate the money that the app saved you:&#x20;

1. Time Rate (salary cost, etc.)&#x20;
2. Mileage Rates (petrol cost, remuneration cost, amortization, insurance, etc.)&#x20;

We use Standard Mileage Rates recommended by the government when we provide default Mileage Rates and Salary Average when we provide default cost on Time Rate. You can set up your own salary and mileage rates for better estimation and more accurate cost prediction.&#x20;

### How do we calculate saved costs?&#x20;

It's important to understand how the app calculates Money Saved. Please see the formula we use below:

TimeBO - Time Before Optimization

TimeAO - Time After Optimization

DisBO - Distance Before Optimization

DisAO - Distance After Optimization

$$
Saved Money = (TimeBO - TimeAO) \* Time Rate + (DisBO - DisAO) \* Mileage Rates
$$

### Useful resources&#x20;

Please find below links to resources that will help you to figure out the Mileage Rates:

{% embed url="<https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-issues-standard-mileage-rates-for-2022>" %}
IRS Mileage Rates for USA, 2022

{% endembed %}

{% embed url="<https://www.njc-cnm.gc.ca/s3/d804/en>" %}

{% endembed %}

Feel free to use your actual salary or any other number as a Time Rate, which can provide you with a better way to track your Time Cost. There are many websites that can provide you with an average pay rate per hour for any sort of jobs out there. You can find it by searching in Google by sentence "courier driver pay rate per hour" and then pick any you trust.

# Using MyWay without an internet connection (Offline Mode)

Planning your route and navigating to your stops when you're offline.

MyWy Route Planner can work offline and allow you to do many different operations while you don't have an internet connection. However, there are some operations that require an internet connection like adding stops, route building (current order and optimization), and route reoptimization.

This is what you can do to make MyWay operate offline.

### 1. Plan your route when you have an internet connection <a href="#id-1-setup-your-route-when-youre-connected" id="id-1-setup-your-route-when-youre-connected"></a>

MyWay needs an internet connection to

* Add stops
* Optimize your route

We recommend doing these steps when you have a reliable internet connection. MyWay doesn't require an internet connection for the rest of your route.

### 2. Download your area for offline navigation <a href="#id-2-download-your-area-for-offline-navigation" id="id-2-download-your-area-for-offline-navigation"></a>

If you lose connection during your route, make your area available offline in your navigation app. This will ensure that you can still navigate to your stops as usual.

How to make your area available offline:

* Instructions for [Google Maps](https://support.google.com/maps/answer/6291838?co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid\&hl=en) (recommended)
* Instructions for [HERE WeGo](https://here.freshdesk.com/en/support/solutions/articles/24000068342-how-can-i-download-and-use-offline-maps-)
* Instruction [Apple Maps](https://support.apple.com/en-nz/guide/iphone/iphcfb5f5bc6/ios)
* *Waze currently doesn't support offline maps*

### 3. Now you can navigate through your route in offline mode <a href="#id-3-you-can-now-navigate-offline" id="id-3-you-can-now-navigate-offline"></a>

Once you've downloaded offline maps in an application you have chosen and have your route optimized and started, you'll be able to press Navigate in MyWay, and navigation will work even when you're without a connection.

# What Service Time should you choose?

Recommendation about the Stop Duration (Service Time) to choose to get the best route optimization results

To get the most accurate route that is very well optimized for your needs, you need to choose service time correctly. As a Service Time may vary, it will change the overall route time and the time you arrive at each stop. The wrong service time has an especially dramatic effect on those stops that have time windows. Service Time (time on a stop) depends on the type of delivery (or business you are in). Please check the recommended service type down below:

| Business                                                             | Recommended Service Time |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------ |
| Documents Delivery                                                   | 5 minutes                |
| Good Delivery, Delivery from On-line Store (Small Box/Package, etc.) | 10 minutes               |
| Clothe Delivery (If customer wants to try it out) | 20 minutes |
| Delivery of Big Boxes/Packages (Furniture, etc.)                     | 40 minutes               |

Please choose Service Time correctly to make the most of the route optimization.&#x20;

# Your privacy and where we store your data

Where do we store favorites, routes, and all your data?

We, as a MyWay Route Planner team, are very concerned about your privacy and believe all data belongs to you and should not be accessed by anyone except you. That's why we do not store your data on our servers (except in cases when it's required by functionality, like sharing your route with others), and we have a practice of deleting anonymized data from our systems on a weekly basis.

## Where is data like stops, proof of delivery, etc. stored?

All routes you have created or finished are stored on your device in local storage and can't be accessed by any other app (unless you allow any other app to access data deliberately).

If you are an iOS user, you can turn on iCloud synchronization, and the app will save all your favorites and routes into your iCloud storage. Please ensure you have enough storage on iCloud, as some routes can use a significant amount of space (especially those with proof of deliveries, signatures, etc.).

{% hint style="warning" %}
Unfortenently, due to some changes in Apple iCloud APIs, iCloud sync does not work for some users. We are currently working on solution and hope it will be in place in December 2024. We are sorry for inconvinience.
{% endhint %}

Your data and your privacy have been and always will be our primary concerns. Therefore, we take privacy seriously and do not sell or share your data with other companies.

## Sensetive Data

When you share your route with others its possible you can unentintionally share data like phone numbers, addresses and customer names with other users who you share your routes with. Please make sure you share with other absolute required minimum and clean data before sharing your routes with others if possible. Users data safety should be your primary concern when you share it with others.

# How can I get a receipt for my purchase?

Want to know how you can get an invoice or receipt to claim expenses as a business?

We do not store your credit card details and do not charge your bank account directly. All purchases on iPhone or iPad go through Apple App Store, and all purchases on Android devices are handled by Google Play Market. Both those marketplaces are going to send you a receipt of your purchase 3-14 days after you make a purchase (it actually depends on when they charge your payment method for a subscription). That receipt can potentially be used to claim expenses, and those claims can help you to reduce the tax you pay if you use the app for your business.

If you did not receive the receipt in your email, please check the articles below for more support&#x20;

### **Apple App Store (iOS, iPad OS)**

# Why can't I buy a subscription?

There are multiple reasons why you can't buy a subscription. The most obvious are:&#x20;

* There is not enough money in your account to buy a subscription.
* There is something wrong with your Payment Method.

Please check none of the above applied to you, and if everything looks good, please check if there is any specific issue related to your App Store. The most common store problems are below:

### **Apple App Store (iPhone, iPad)** <a href="#ios-iphone-or-ipad" id="ios-iphone-or-ipad"></a>

* Your App Store account is not allowed to make an in-app purchase (<https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204396>)
* You use a different Apple ID account for purchases, which has its own limitations or issues (<https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207937>). &#x20;

### Google Play Store (Android)

* Your payment method is likely wrong. [Please make sure your payment method is not expired](/subscription-management/how-to-change-or-add-a-payment-method).
* Please make sure your account has not been blocked or restricted by Google.

Each and every case has its own way of resolving it. If you have been facing any of these issues, please refer to the official Apple App Store and Google Play Store documentation to resolve them.

**Unfortunately, we can't issue refunds from our end**, as we don't have any direct control over refunds, but you can follow the instructions below to apply for a refund on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

### **Apple App Store (iPhone, iPad)** <a href="#apple-app-store" id="apple-app-store"></a>

[Here are the instructions](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084) on how you can apply for a refund on the Apple app store. Apple will review each case individually.

### Google Play Store (Android) <a href="#h_4f481eb860" id="h_4f481eb860"></a>

If you were charged in the past 48 hours, Google will most likely refund the charges right away. If the charge was more than 48 hours ago, Google will consider your refund request, depending on the circumstances. You can [submit a refund request here](https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637?hl=en).

# Use MyWay on multiple devices

or migrate subscription from one device to another

It's possible to use MyWay on multiple devices. To set up a second device, you need to log in with the Apple ID or Google account you used to initially subscribe to MyWay.

After logging in with the correct account, you need to either [restore the subscription](/subscription-management/myway-does-not-recognize-my-subscription) on an iOS device or verify it on your Android device. Please check the instructions on how to do that [here](/subscription-management/myway-does-not-recognize-my-subscription).

Keep in mind that **you can't share an account with another driver**. it's not possible to use different routes on multiple devices at the same time except if you have a business subscription (that supports route sharing between devices).

If you'd like to [change your payment method](/subscription-management/how-to-change-or-add-a-payment-method) or [cancel the subscription](/subscription-management/how-to-cancel-your-myway-subscription) later, you'll need to do that on the platform you've originally subscribed to (iOS or Android).

# Does the app support Family Sharing in iOS?

Family Sharing allows you and the other members of your household to share iTunes, App Store, and other purchases and subscriptions across all your family members and devices without having to purchase them multiple times. Unfortunately, at this point, MyWay does not support family sharing, so you can't share one subscription with your family members. The main reason for this is the inability to share route history and other settings that affect route optimization algorithms.&#x20;

We are sorry about that and will work to sort this out in the future, but the only option at this stage is to buy a separate subscription for each member of your family. <br>

# I've been double charged

First of all. A double charge is not a common issue, but it might still happen because of the nature of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The good news is it is pretty easy to sort out.

There are a few reasons you might see a double charge from MyWay:

#### 1. Hold not correctly handled by your bank <a href="#h_f37520469e" id="h_f37520469e"></a>

If you've recently subscribed to MyWay, a double charge might be caused by a hold. Apple and Google place a hold on your account to see if there are sufficient funds. As soon as you finish your free trial and the first charge goes through, the hold is removed by Apple or Google. Unfortunately, some banks don't handle this correctly. Instead, they show the hold as a charge and may take up to a month before showing the hold has been removed. Please let us know if the hold isn't removed after 1 month.

#### 2. Your previous payment was late <a href="#h_845ae006ea" id="h_845ae006ea"></a>

If you were late paying your subscription fee last month, Apple or Google could charge you twice for last month and this month. A double charge might also occur if your subscription was automatically canceled because Apple/Google couldn't charge the payment, and now you've restarted the subscription.

#### 3. Accidentally bought a subscription twice <a href="#h_fa2e6e75db" id="h_fa2e6e75db"></a>

If you've accidentally bought a MyWay subscription twice on an Apple device, Apple will automatically refund the double charge. You can check [your Apple purchases here](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204088).

If you've accidentally bought a subscription twice or started 2 free trials on Google Play, [you can check that here](https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions). Please [cancel](https://help.getcircuit.com/article/44-cancel-your-subscription) one of them and [apply for a refund](https://help.getcircuit.com/article/63-refund).

#### 4. Started a subscription on both Apple and Android <a href="#h_de3ce1f52b" id="h_de3ce1f52b"></a>

You might have started a subscription on both an Apple and an Android device. You can [check that here for Apple](https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204088) and [here for Android](https://play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions). Please [cancel](https://help.getcircuit.com/article/44-cancel-your-subscription) the account you don't want to use anymore and [apply for a refund here](https://help.getcircuit.com/article/63-refund).

#### 5. Other <a href="#h_b60472697a" id="h_b60472697a"></a>

If none of the above helps, you can also dispute all charges at your bank. If you wait for 1 month, all disputed charges will be canceled, and now you can safely start a new subscription. If that doesn't help either, please contact us and send us a screenshot of all charges, and we will be able to assist you.

# Special pricing for non-profit organizations and volunteers

Special price for charity, non-profit and volunteers

We love people who are passionate about helping others. If you have a non-profit organization or help others as a volunteer, please contact us through the app chat (menu Icon on the top right of the main page > Contact Us). Please share your story with us, and we can offer you a special price.

{% hint style="info" %}
We might ask you for proof, as we have many requests like this. We want to be sure we are not giving discounted access to everybody but only those who deserve it. After all, if we give everyone free access, we can't play our part and help communities ourselves.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
We provide special pricing as a promo code promotion, must follow Apple AppStore and Google Play rules, and are limited by platform abilities so promotions are not equal.

To redeem the promo code in Android [please follow the instructions](https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/3422659?hl=en\&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid).
